is the Knowledge Services Librarian at Harvard Kennedy School Library & Knowledge Services, where she specializes in data/digital/spatial/media resources and communications. Her LIS praxis is informed by an academic background in human geography, and extensive experience in community organizing. Much of her research has focused on collective action and the online/offline spaces in which it plays out. She's passionate about using technology to facilitate social change on scales large and small.
In her free time, Alessandra can be found long-distance cycling, running, and hiking, or watching a documentary. She has lived in Madison, WI; Florence, Italy; Poughkeepsie, NY; Washington, DC; Brooklyn, NY; Boston, MA; and Cambridge, MA.
